I just got off a nine day metta retreat and am still feeling the afterglow. I averaged nine hours of sleep per night (about 50% more than my normal sleep deprived state), woke up at 6 AM every day, walked outside every morning for the sunrise with nothing on my person except my clothes, ate three delicious and healthy meals a day, meditated constantly, used zero electronics, and enjoyed beautiful nature around amazing people (mostly in silence).
Planning Suffertember VIII to keep this going:
no warm showers (pretty sure the water heater was broken in my building at the retreat)
no food delivery ordering
one hour of meditation/day
no social media/news or TV/movies (not really part of my life anyways)
no caffeine
no checking sleep scores for entire month
6:30 AM wake-up/out of bed every week day
9 PM devices/lights off + wind down ritual every week day
doing Santa Cruz IM 70.3 and trying extra hard
MTGBWY,
Armand
A 70.3 with no caffeine? That is true suffering
